thirsk tourism boost

We were delighted to finally obtain planning permission and listed building consent, unanimously voted for by the Hambleton District Council Planning Committee in July 2021 after months of negotiations, for some exciting new initiatives in the unique grounds of Thirsk Hall on behalf of the Bell family. The proposals will provide new tourist opportunities within the town and help boost the local economy.

The three applications were all sensitively designed to respect the heritage asset, Conservation Area and surrounding neighbours and comprise a seasonal 'Glamping' site of 10 boutique bell tents, showers and toilets; a Sculpture Park for changing exhibitions throughout the year within the six hectare gardens and parkland; and a new gallery and exhibition space within a converted barn.

Works on the glamping site and gallery are due to commence soon and the Sculpture Park shall be a changing attraction, currently exhibiting major works by Michael Lyons alongside other artists until the end of September, with other exciting events planned.
