Judy Walkland
BA Dip Arch (Leic) PG Dip ARB RIBA
Judy, daughter of the founding partner Ron Illingsworth, joined the practice in 1986 and has seen many changes in the business and industry over the last 33 years. She initially trained part-time as an architectural technologist, qualifying in 1990, before pursuing qualification as an architect, again on a part-time basis whilst working full time at the practice, gaining membership to the ARB and RIBA in 2003.
Becoming an associate in 2002 and director in 2003, she now heads the practice and since 2006 has been in overall charge of the day to day running of the business, responsible for the management, marketing, health and safety, and finance.
Judy has gained a wealth of experience and knowledge working in the residential, commercial, education, leisure, industrial and health sectors, involved in projects large and small across the country. Her particular passion and strengths however lie in the design of housing schemes, residential properties and domestic remodelling.
Pippa
Diploma in Food Tasting
The most recent addition to the firm is Pippa, the black Labrador; the office de-stresser. She keeps watch over proceedings and ensures the mind remains fresh and focused with regular morning and lunch-time exercise. Her bark is quite loud but don't be alarmed, she is very friendly, if perhaps overly inquisitive!
Paul Walkland
BTEC HND Building Studies
Paul joined the practice in 1987 after training on a full-time basis and qualifying as an architectural technologist. He became a director of the company in 2006.He is responsible for general office maintenance and safety and for ensuring our technical resources and equipment is up to date and safe.
Paul brings to the practice a wealth of technical knowledge and practical experience, which has included site construction work. His projects are varied and all have a strong focus on the detail, ensuring that whatever the job, whether it be large or small, it meets the required and desired standards at every level.
He has been involved in a broad range of projects, gaining valuable experience on schemes of varying size and cost including those in commercial, retail, industrial, agricultural and domestic sectors, and he enjoys a particular interest in the detailed construction and technology.contact us to discuss your next project
