Project Description
This development comprised 10 unique dwellings, all new build, replacing decrepit sheds on the site of a former chicken farm in a very rural location near Killinghall.
We recommended a bespoke design, in order to respect the locality and improve the chances of a favourable outcome through the planning process, which proved to be the right decision.
The scheme is perceived as a converted farmstead with a mix of single storey agricultural styled buildings arranged around a central 'foldyard', sitting alongside the domestic components of the 'farmhouse' and 'worker's cottage'. Inspiration for the designs was taken from the Nidderdale AONB Traditional Farmstead guidance document.
The site is currently under construction and due for completion in 2020.
