After 40 years, since Judy’s late father, ‘Red Ron’ Illingsworth, and business partner Jim Downes established their private architects practice in Thirsk, we have decided to close the doors on that chapter and will be opening new ones.
Downes Illingsworth Partnership Ltd and the Thirsk office is now closed, but we will be continuing to serve our valued clients, old and new, in our own specialist ways. Those who have worked with us before will know our strengths and passions, and we will each be focussing on these through new independent architectural practices.
Although we will now be operating separately, where specific projects dictate, we will still be collaborating as part of broad design teams, and so combined services will be largely unchanged and clients can still expect the same holistic service as before with similar end goals, from Feasibility through to Construction stages. We want to focus more on selective clients, and so the new arrangements should provide even more personalised, ‘hands-on’ services.
We have yet to launch new websites, but our joint portfolio, showcasing our combined 75 years’ experience at DIP, is still available to view here for a little while longer.
